What’s happening with TrainingNOW.ca & LearningCreators.com

If you’ve tried to sign on to TrainingNOW.ca today, you’ve been met with a screen that says “Website Unavailable” and goes on to explain that account issues are to blame. NOT QUITE …

Here’s what’s happening!

After many years with Doteasy.com we’ve decided to switch our webhosting to another vendor for price reasons. For sometime now, we’ve been registering domains with other vendors, however, our main domain of trainingnow.ca has been left on Doteasy.

All that has changed.

Effective July 1, we began the process of  moving to a new webhost. It wasn’t as easy as we hoped, but shouldn’t have been that difficult.

Unfortunately, the change didn’t quite go as planned.

We’ve discovered a few issues:

1. TrainingNOW.ca hasn’t had its name server changed. And we can no longer do so. We’ve now requested Doteasy support to make the change for us, but unfortunately we are at their mercy. If worse comes to worse, we will move the domain name to another registrar. But unfortunately, that will take time. (The last time we tried to switch from Netloss Solutions (not their real name),  they mucked us around until the domain expired and then  they stole it. While Doteasy is not Nota Solution (not their real name), the potential exists for a similar issue. Hopefully, Doteasy is honest and this won’t happen). *** Followup – PROBLEM SOLVED after one day of downtime. ***

2. Most of our emails were being handled through TrainingNOW.ca. Since the domain hasn’t transfered, neither have the emails. So contacting us can be difficult. If you have an issue please leave a comment below and we’ll email you back. *** Followup – PROBLEM SOLVED after one day of downtime. ***

3. Some of the pages from LearningCreators.com (and other sites) were coded based on the structures in our previous host. Some of those structures no longer work, so the page no longer works. We are testing all of our pages to find these problems, but it is possible that you may find a problem before we do. If so just leave us a comment below and we’ll get on it. (And tell you when we start/finish).

4. Many of our order pages went through TrainingNOW so if you have ordered something and are experiencing problems leave us a message below.

5. All of these problems are temporary but are a pain in the meantime.

6. To make matters worse, one of my neighbours has figured out how to shut down my wireless network (unintentionallly I am sure), so my internet access is very intermittant.

Sorry for the impositions. Sometimes I really hate technology. 😀
